Accounting Specialist-Tax/401(k)

Position Summary

Handles diversified accounting responsibilities including handling tax, 401(k)/IRA, and Workers’ Compensation filings and ACH processing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepares client and company monthly, quarterly and annual federal and state tax filings; generates tax payments due.
  2. Handles all ACH direct deposit payroll processing for assigned clients; handles ACH collections for accounts receivables due the company.
  3. Handles 401(k) and IRA filings; uploads files to process employer match and processes all contributions; generates annual census reports for non-discrimination testing.
  4. Handles generation of monthly payroll reports for Workers Compensation premium collection; verifies accuracy of premium with providers.
  5. Reolves tax problems reported by clients or agencies relating to inaccurate or late payments.
  6. Performs special projects or other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities)

  • High School Diploma with additional accounting education
  • Minimum 2 years accounting, financial reporting and tax filing experience;
  • Detail-oriented with ability to handle repetive tasks
  • Strong computer skills with ability to learn new software quickly
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
